When you need a new heartvalve, you put some cells in an reactor and wait a couple of weeks. Just implant and you are ready for a long life. Up till now, this is science fiction, but hopefully it will be truth within considerable time. Phd student ir. Mirjam Rubbens (Biomedical Engineering) showed that you have to train the valves during growth.

The department of Biomedical Engineering is proud of bachelor lecturer Bert Meijer. Biomedical Engineering students already awarded Bert three years in a row as best bachelor lecturer. This year, the students of the "central students advise committee" decided that Bert Meijer is the best TU/e bachelor lecturer. Read more
